Project 3 - An Introduction to Pioneer Park

Objective: Production of a professional quality video that introduces Pioneer Park to a potential visitor. The video will give a brief history of the park and a brief overview of each of the park's buildings. Students will work in 5 groups with each group assigned a different part of the park. In their groups, students will edit the 5 parts of the video and in the end will combine them into one 12 - 15 minute production. The videos should include music that is reflective of the historical period of the park's buildings.

Length: 2.5 to 3 minutes maximum for each section. (12 - 15 minutes total).

Requirements:

  • Assign jobs to each of your team members according to their strengths and abilities. Use the job description form. Complete two copies of this form - keep one, turn one into Ms D. Each person should have at least one job in each stage - Pre-Production, Production and Post-Production.
  • Do initial research. Read handouts on the buildings and fill out your research form. Bring the research form to Pioneer Park on the day we do visit, to take notes and collect information.
  • Write a script.
  • Sketch a storyboard.
  • Shoot video footage.
