Ferndale School District supports three high school programs - the newest of these is Windward High School (opened Febraury 2004). Windward offers students an opportunity for in-depth, real world learning through community partnerships, service learning, community service, and project based learning. The goal is allow all students to become high achievers who are ready for college, work, and civic contribution. Read more about the goals of Windward High School.

Windward High School is partnered with the Digital Learning Commons to provide over 500 online courses for students in 6th to 12th grade. The WHS Online Academy provides additional learning options for home school students, part-time high school students or students who cannot attend school for temporary medical or personal reasons.
